Crimson Desert: The Infinite Healing Trick That Makes Bosses Easy (Grilled Meat Meta Healing Guide)

For the same 12 Raw Meat, you can make 12 Standard pieces for a total of 1,680 HP versus a measly 280 HP from the better meal.

The real reason why Grilled Meat is the ultimate healing meta in Crimson Desert, however, is that it can be spammed relentlessly.

  • You can eat Grilled Meat every 2 seconds
  • There’s no animation lock for eating Grilled Meat. This means that you can essentially eat it at any time and repeatedly by masing the right direction on the D-pad

As such, quantity will always beat quality in boss fights. Stocking up on Grilled Meat ensures that you will survive any boss in the game, no matter how powerful they are, because you can heal even as you are attacked, knocked down, or are attacking yourself.

Mid and Late Game

However, as you make your progress through main quests or start exploring regions other than Hernand, and you haven’t upgraded your armor, you will notice how enemies often outdamage your healing capabilities. When this starts happening, switch to :

  • Satisfying Grilled Meat: Heals 220 HP, costs 5 Raw Meat to make
  • Filling Meat Skewers: Heals 220 HP and 14 Spirit, grants 30 seconds of Fire Resistance Lv 2. Cost 3 Raw Meat and 3 Vegetables to make

These meals will let you continue to take advantage of the same mechanics that regulate this fast healing trick while healing for more HP to keep up with enemy damage.

How to Farm Meat

To comfortably take on the most powerful bosses in the game, you will need to stock up on Grilled Meat, and to do so, you will need to farm the cheapest cuts of meat available. This can be done in a few handy ways.

Method 1: Vendor Loops (Easiest)

  1. Travel to any town that has a Meat Vendor (Butchery), like Hernand Town.
  2. Locate the Meat Vendor.
  3. Buy their entire stock of Tough and Lean Meat. Any of them is fine, since you can make Grilled Meat out of all of them. You can also buy Lean or regular Bird Meat (Grilled Bird Meat heals for 120 HP instead of 140 HP, but it still works great)
  4. Find the nearest cooking pot or bonfire to rest for 12 hours. This resets vendors’ inventory instantly.
  5. Buy the restocked meat.

NOTE: Due to the hidden fatigue mechanics, you cannot loop this method over and over, but will need to wait for Kliff to get tired again. However, if you have access to multiple Meat Vendors, you can easily fill your bag with meat by purchasing all that you can before resetting their inventory.

Method 2: Hunting

Pywel features abundant wildlife as soon as you leave any settlement.

  • Head into any forests, such as those surrounding Pororin Village (where you can make the cat of your dreams your pet). You are guaranteed to find plenty of animals to hunt for meat and crafting materials.
  • This works best if you are low on coppers. You can cook the meat and sell the unwanted hides to earn money, which you can then reinvest in buying more meat from vendors.

The “Combat-Heal” Trick: How to Tank Bosses

The real power of Grilled Meat manifests when you want to go wild and tank bosses, granted their attacks don’t outdamage your rapid-fire healing.

  • You can tap right on the D-Pad during your light attack combos.
  • This allows you to trade damage with bosses. As long as you are hitting the button every 2 seconds, you can stay at full health even while taking full damage from enemy attacks.
  • If you are knocked down, you can still eat meat as you rise back up. This ensures you aren’t defeated by any follow-up attacks that you can’t defend against.

NOTE: When playing at framerates above 60 FPS, the game may drop inputs. As such, don’t try to eat Grilled Meat by pressing the button rhythmically. Mash it to ensure you don’t drop healing at the worst possible time
