While the PlayStation 6<\/strong><\/em> has yet to be announced, the system’s price<\/strong> and release window<\/strong> are being widely discussed. With the current global situation suggesting the system will be released at a high price and much later than expected, known AMD<\/strong> leaker Kepler_L2<\/strong> provided a very valid reason on the NeoGAF<\/strong> forums why it is unlikely the system will see a delay beyond the late 2027 or early 2028 release window<\/strong>: it wouldn’t be wasting resources on its validation.<\/p>\n

“What copium? You think AMD is gonna waste resources doing validation on something they think will get delayed,”<\/em> the leaker said<\/strong> in reply to posts suggesting that their leaks on the system not being delayed to late 2028 and beyond may be inaccurate.<\/p>\n

The leaker also liked a post from user Zathalus<\/strong>,<\/strong> which makes another valid argument, comparing the current situation to that which preceded the launch of the PlayStation 5<\/em><\/strong>. “The PS4 was selling extremely well in 2019, and component costs and shortages were hitting the industry hard due to Covid in 2020,”<\/em> they said. <\/p>\n

In addition, the user highlighted how the silence surrounding the system and potential exclusive games is not a real cause of concern, as the first official mention of the PS5<\/em><\/strong> came in April 2019, roughly one year and a half before the launch of the system in November 2020.<\/p>\n

Other Leaks Suggest The PlayStation 6 Is Not Many Years Away<\/h2>\n
